Story
Summary
The brochure never advertised "Come to Hawaii and Die"! Ned and Martha were just part of a tour group, out for fun and adventure.
Why did they feel that they were in danger? This may have been less fun and more adventure than they wanted, but they can't ask
for a refund now!
Dust off your Hawaiian shirts, get out the sun tan lotion, sun glasses, and leis, and sprinkle sand in your friends' hair as you
solve the mystery. As you are all strangers in a tour group, everyone is a suspect. Some really good advice may be to not go near
the water!

A singles travel group from Cincinnati, Ohio offers vacations
four times a year. The only requirement besides paying for the trip
is that you not travel as a couple. Accommodations are designed
around double occupancy with two of the same gender occupying a
room.
This trip is to the Islands of Hawaii for two fun filled weeks. Side
tours to all the Islands and various activities are set up for those
who wish to take them. Instructions in surfing, snorkeling, scuba
diving, and hula dancing are available. The first 3 days are spent
on specific activities and the remainder of the days are open to
individual choices. Plenty of free time is also available for those
who just wish to relax. The tour consists of 137 people this year,
but those who are involved right now are the members of Scuba Group
3.
You met at the hotel in Honolulu on Monday (Jan 10), as some came in
on different flights and connections. You were taken to the hotel
and assigned your rooms. Then you attended a big buffet of Oriental
foods. Tonight is the luau.
This morning (Jan 11) you were all out in the lagoon at Kaipuna,
scuba diving. Since all of you have dived before in at least a
swimming pool environment, you were judged skilled enough to try the
salt water. Kaipuna is 55 feet deep, enough to get your attention,
but not normally considered a dangerous depth.
Ned Nickels and Martha Moorley seemed to be very attracted to one
another and Martin Mixler always tagged along with them. However,
what ever else they shared with each other, death in the lagoon is
what they share now. There are no sharks in the area, no sea snakes,
or giant squid. The only unnatural thing in the lagoon is the God
Ikie Stikie, God of premature death.
Our challenge is simple--either find out who killed Ned and Martha
or find out how to appease Ikie Stikie.

Honey Bhu |
Spends her time looking for the Big Wave. (Must be a football fan!)
Knows all the "hot spots" to visit. |
|
Pearl Curtis |
Likes excitement and adventure. Has offered to dive off a 3 foot
ladder into a soaked sponge if someone will pay her medical
expenses. Pearl is a real Jewel. |
|
Laura Legech |
Deals in beauty. Thinking of changing her name. Doesn't like Laura
too much. Rumored she spends too much time reading labels on gum
wrappers. (Name pronounced Leech) |
|
Lon Loomis |
Likes the water. His friends gave him a rubber ducky to play with in
the surf. The scary thing is that he thought about bringing it. |
|
Martin Mixler |
Won a look-a-like contest for a famous Hollywood personality. Can
you guess who it was? The only one to get on the plane with a Parka.
Did he get his States mixed up when he booked a trip to the 50th
State? |
|
Kathy Moorehouse |
Kathy just loves to swim. Want to know any more? Ask her. Something
about her smells. |
|
Olin Petra |
World traveler. Former revolutionary. Not too fond of Russian music. |
|
Bob Swartz |
Bold, daring, dashing, adventuresome. Sometimes has been known to
stay up until 11:30pm and it wasn't even New Year's Eve! A real high
flyer. |
|
Molokai Mama |
As authentic a Hawaiian as you're going to get in this game. Spends
lots of time at the beaches searching for some thing. She must be a
track star because she is always playing with a baton. |
|
Hey You |
A secretive person, searching for his identity. He appears to have
missed his lessons on counting as a youth. Ask him about the
Mongoose at you own risk. |
|
|
The game can be expanded to 30 players which includes the the 10
characters above, 4 more characters, and 2 teams (The Wind
Surfers and The Coral Restoration Team) of 8 players each. |
|
Jill Locklear |
Doesn't want
to say too much about herself or her background. What is she
trying to hide? Phone is always busy. |
| Glenna Ellis |
You have heard the phrase
"Bean Counter". That's her. Not a team player. Travels with
some strange baggage. |
|
"Duke" Molinski |
Fortunately
you do not need a passport to get to Hawaii. He may not
qualify. Some question about what he is doing with the tour
group. Was this an emergency flight for him? |
| Doug Sabastion |
Very smart, won a place on the
tour. Real tourist. Wonder why a guy like him is on a tour
like this. Does he like sea shells or is he shell shocked? |
|
Defensive Wind Sailing Team |
Eight people
that most of the rest of the tour think are full of hot air
or very windy. They are training for a international
contest. A couple claim that they came to Hawaii on their
Wind surfing boards. Some people also claim that the moon is
made of green cheese! |
| Coral Restoration |
Eight people with a goal that
is environmentally sound. Don't mix them up with a Choral
TEAM Group, nor with a bunch of people in a corral. Is there
something fishy about them? |

We ordered
this game a couple of years ago and have almost worn it out and passed
it around three or four times. We had such a good time that we went
to order The Silver Slipper for the party
this year. Thank you for offering good, clean, wholesome fun. We look
forward to he game this year and may have to make it an annual event.
