Story Summary
The year is 1909, and on this wild train ride across Europe,
everyone is a Spy! There are six master spies, one moderator,
and five teams of spies who are searching for a stolen formula
and trying to discover who killed poor Ivan, the last person
to be known to have the formula.
In this raucous game, everyone is a participant in one way
or another--a Master Spy or a Team Member. This mystery
is great for reunions, corporate team building, church groups,
fund raisers, school groups (14 years or older) or just
having a great time. Slip on your trench coat and come join
the fun.
It is 1909 and the eve of the Tri-party War. Europe is aflame with colonial
interest in less developed countries of the world. Asia is stretching
its wings and consolidating many small countries into larger bases of
power. Africa is responding to the call for reunification of the continent
with Isles of the Pacific providing raw materials and trading partnerships.
Suddenly, the fulfilment of each of these goals for any country is possible
if they can obtain a newly developed formula, which is available to
anyone who can steal it. A group of high school students in the Saar
has discovered the most powerful weapon in the world--food.
The class has proven an ability to use the chemical formula to produce
fantastic results. The nation that controls the formula can control
the production of food for them and their allies, while the other nations
will be left to the old means of producing food. Money currently spent
to produce food can be used to build arms, purchase products, and forge
alliances. One unforseen problem is that the students have decided to
make the formula available to everyone. Several interests feel that
stealing the formula is a better solution.
Wild speculation suggest that the projections of food show European
crops of wheat are expected to produce 1,380 bushels per acre. France
will be able to produce grapes that provide 43 gallons of juice per
5 pounds of grapes. In India and China, rice crops will rise to a staggering
6,000 pounds per quarter acre. Iceland will even see the production
of ice cubes rise to 2,623 per 2 pounds of water.
Sunday, August 12, Eric Jones secured the formula for the United States,
with the intent of distributing it to all English speaking nations.
He was in Bavaria when he obtained the formula. He then sped via a rented
race car to Romania where he was going to distribute the formula. When
he arrived in Romania, he took a hotel room at 6:17pm. At the Leopold
Hotel on the evening of the 14th, he was killed at 7:00pm by Poo Low
Zing from Tibet, who in turn was killed when she returned to her room
at 7:43pm. Her killer was a Russian, Ivan Stravoski. Ivan and his three
guards were attacked by five Germans. The guards were stabbed and Ivan
was fiendishly tortured by tickling in an attempt to find where he had
hidden the formula. Because of the noise in and around his room, hotel
security was called and they called his room and told the answerer that
they were coming up to evict him and to get packed. The Germans did
find out that he had mailed three letters earlier in the evening before
they grabbed Ivan. The desk clerk recalled that one was to the Russian
embassy in Macao and one was to S. Clause. He did not know where the
other was sent. The Germans fled to avoid discovery and hotel security
found Ivan in his room, stabbed to death at 10:00pm.
The next morning, Ivan's body was claimed by the Russians, packed in
a coffin, and sent to France on the train. The train will travel from
Rumania, Bosnia, Austria-Hungary, Tyrol, Switzerland, and then France,
where Ivan will be buried next to his dear mother's grave.
All of the agents that have been hired to obtain the formula are known
to be on this train, along with the body of Ivan. You must find out
who killed Ivan and where is the formula so you can save your country
from devastation. Good luck. Remember--motive, opportunity, method,
and who is lying.

Smythe |
International
background, now working for the Russians(?) Knows a great
deal about Mexico, India, and the Philippines. Takes his
unusual pet with him where ever he goes. Not in Who’s Who of
Spies. He is all man. Maybe a dead man? |
| Nelda |
Does not seem to be as much
interested in Ivan’s death as in who has the formula.
Appears to hate dogs. Has trouble with numbers. Maybe that
is why she has a reputation of being a day late and a dollar
short. Works for the Canadian government (maybe). This may
only be a part-time job for her. |
|
Oregano |
Works for the
Kenya, Africa government. Started out up in the air over
this whole adventure, but has now decided to just let the
bodies fall where they may. Probably doesn’t work for just
beads and pretty cloth. She is a real killer at heart. Watch
out for her "flute". |
| Yolanda |
Always monkeying around. Her
claim to fame is that her name spelled backwards is Adnaloy.
Is she working for the Greeks or with the Geeks? Or is she
up the creek? |
|
Morgan |
Kind of a
rebellious person. An Irishman who likes to sing “When Irish
Spies are Smiling”. Probably dislikes people who like pickle
and orange sandwiches. Will he like you? Not sure who is
paying for his services. The way he is going, it may be a
funeral service. |
| K. C. |
Great family woman. Comes from
a large family known as the Mafia family. Around her, when
you think of "Duck!" you don’t think of a bird. This is a
lady on the edge. We just don’t know which edge it is. Looks
sharp enough to be on the edge of a boiled egg. |
|
Team Texas |
Everything they do is
bigger and better than anyone else. Including their egos,
hot air, and ability to insult everything non-Texan. Their
use for the money is about what you would expect from them. |
| Team Russia |
There reputation seems to point
to them as being cheap, inefficient, and losers. Too bad who
hired them didn’t want a high quality team. But what can you
expect from a team with such National goals as these folks
are trying to promote if they get the formula! |
|
Team Hungary Austria |
This team is from Hungary. If you believe that, they are
going to use the money for their avowed reason. Check with
the host/hostess after the game, they have a bridge they
want to sell you. |
|
Team Cape Town |
Spaghetti? |
|
Team Mexico |
Well this team has about as much chance of getting the
formula as an ice cube in Mexico City not melting in August.
But don’t discourage them, we needed them to have enough
players to play the game. |
|
We
had a great time. Ended up with 33 players. I know that they would
not sit still in spy rings, so I read everyone the intro and then
let the master spies take over. I also placed a copy of the border
crossing info in a central location. That way if one wanted to read
the info rather than get it from the master spies, one could.
Everyone was free to collaborate, but each person had to submit
their own answer. I got 3 out of 33 right answers. The food was
great...and despite the thunderstorms (or because of the
thunderstorms) the cruise on the OH river was awesome. Thanks again
for your help.
